There are 3 things about this picture that are terrific. Can you name any of them?

excellent video. They nearly lost me at the beginning with the Top Gun music.
Would somebody volunteer to stand in front of my easy-up next season when I finish a race and take the clutch lever while I swing a leg over the tank and walk away? That might be the single best thing about being a pro. That, and the free lunch buffet.
If somebody grabs my bike for me after a race I'll return the favor.

Motorcycling racing.....

Where else can we as amature participants....feel that things are so much the same...and so much different...as compared to the professionals.

Is there any other sport that allows you to feel the same primal emotions as the pros, while participating at your own level? Don't talk to me about winning, losing, determination...all that shit. I'm talking primal, heart in the throat, gut wrenching fear, giddy almost insane joy, courage that doesn't feel like courage just doin it, and the nirvana of being one with the machine for a few moments. Where in the final analysis our potential rewards and punishments are the same...joy and death.

We can feel the same things as the pros...different level...it's all relative...not many sports allow you that.

Ok...I'm done...in general I freakin despise motorcycle philosophy.

I'm with bfd. I gotta get in on that leg swing deal. the coolest thing I ever get to do is have my friend bring the rear stand to the winners circle. Interview, water, towels...you guys know how it is.

wow. word.
i like that he can swing his leg over the tank. i mean, if i did have a guy who could come out, and do the stand thing, it wouldnt matter. becasue being able to stand up and swing a leg over the tank is just ri-tah-ded. pretty good though. man, those wheelies are bad assed.

all right- sometime in '06. Maybe at Vintage celebration to show those car guys what's up.
I'm going to have to practice this winter in the basement to make sure I can get my leg that high in my leathers. It feels like I have all the mobility of an astronaught in the old moon landing videos.

matt
turn the sound down. it works for me
Amen Monkey; kinda gay. Plus I never get sick of listening to those bikes. Millions of dollars went into those motors, it's an expensive soundtrack. Let us listen.

Z
you know the guy that set up that clip/site probably thinks top gun is AWESOME!

i had a roommate once like that. i killed him.

tex
top gun(still gay)..... should be slayer.

at least slayer would compliment the crash footage.

matt
freakin in the house, 20 degrees outside and some dude thinks top gun is cool. the guy probably has a tom cruise poster over his bed too........... ha ha
