Hey guys and gals! I bought my first cafe racer hope to be project. its a 1986 Honda Transalp. I don't like the look of the dirt bike styles it has so I want it to look like a cb200. It looks like I will have to lower it some how and put a different gas tank on it. Im ok with the look of the singe suspension on the back. But I really want to put some clubman handle bars on it like in Iron and Air magazines. I have a pretty cool mustache and some highwater pants that will give me that real retro look of the cafe racers like in williamsburg new york. I always see those guys with hot chicks on the back. Can anyone help with what I should do or how? Ideas? Thanks everyone.

Dear Coffee Clubman. As you've probably already heard, the sickest coffee racers have clubmans. I fully endorse making a transalp a cafe billy burg babe chaser.

Make sure the bike doesn't work, or barely run. That way when it backfires, everyone on Bedford Ave with think you're the shit, and salute you accordingly.

If the paint is decent, take a brillo pad and rough it up. Chicks dig scars.

The exhaust should be cut off before the can. Noise makes people respect you.

And remember, when you take it to a shop to get it running, make sure you ask to only pay 200 bucks cause thats how much you bought it for.

i would love a transalp as well
honda would be served well to bring the transalp back of course with some upgrades FI and better suspension but the purpose and styling were spot on and the ADV market is strong enough ... i think
