Touring In Demin

I'm taking the V7 to the north bit of Spain in the summer & I don't have any touring gear... Touring is a bit of an exageration of what I'm gonna be doing. I'm gonna be knocking around the coast, looking for beaches, nice towns and don't plan to be on the bike for more than a few short hours a day...

Will I get away with wearing denim on the bike? Never riden in warm climates before... But I'm just not into buying a load of technical gear... Heres my Jacket:

Go with Oilskin it's still cotton and breaths but it is near waterproof and windproof.

Check Barbour, Modeka, Outback for examples

Not bad if it has a removable or no liner, whole concept of a riding jacket is to provide some extra warmth and wind protection. In the heat of the noon day sun everything is hot except maybe a spandex onesie, that's cool except for the back protector which is as hot as wearing a backpack. Unless the back protector is filled with cold water and that would be very cool!

+ Denim cotton soaks up water and stains, waxed cotton you spill something on it or get it bug spattered and you hose it down in a shower with plain water.
