you should contact grandpaul onthis forum or on britbike.com. he's done a number of unit tritons and makes the plates out of 6061

How hard could it be to make something like that?
If you can shape it out of cardboard you can make it out of aluminum with not very much in the way of tools. It might take a whole day or two, probably less time then it would take to buy them.
