Jason Jessee, of 80s skateboarding fame, who builds custom chopper/bobbers through his company High-Bond Modified has been given a Vans sneaker. Basically a vans sneaker made of oiled boot leather with a steel shank for kickstarting.

Probably the LEAST protection you can get with a shoe on! I am a dirtbag so I got a pair. Anyway, check 'em out:

...and check out Jasons stuff at www.automodown.com

seth, how much, and where did you get em??? ill have denise pick me up a pair.

i read an article on jason jesse a few years ago in iron horse. he still rips shit up. and builds some pretty cool old school chops. there was this kick ass pick of him riding a triumph chop with his vans on. very cool. i had a buddy ask me if i was riding up a raod one morning becasue he thought i was in front of him on my bike. i said "yeah, that was me. howd you know?" he said, "well, the guy on a cafed honda wearing vans kinda gave it away"

very cool.

My bro owns Autumn in NYC (hence the bowl), he's always good with hooking-up shoes. They should be in most skateshops by now, high tops too. Check out the website above for pics of Jason Jessee stuff. And check out that movie 'Stoked' about Gator and the murders.... some funny interview footage of Jason. Supposedly a documentary coming out soon. A real character, should be good.

Also, The Horse has an article this(? or last) month on Max Schaff (pro for Real) who is building some Harley bobbers.

Scott....it's not age...it's just an obscure subset of formerly inner city stick trash. You know the drill, black tee's, tats, piercings, mosh pits, baggy shorts....kinda like the harley crowd but different :) Typically more violent, thrill seeking and whacky....oh my god, what have I said! Luckily they don't know where I live :)

I used to nail metal skates to the bottom of a board when I was a kid. There was no such thing as a store bought board.
Yeah baby...I was there at the beginning.
There are some that call me the Father of Skateboarding and some just call me Tim.
