Received the Harbor Freight 5 pound Vibratory Tumbler for Christmas..
And I have locktighted all the fasteners per the forum's advice on the model.. :p

Have been using the fine walnut shells with some added orange rubbing compound I had as an extra polishing agent..
This combo works but may not be right for some metals.. so far just basic motorcycle and guitar stuff !!

Have been looking into buying the small ceramic sphears/pellets but wish to hear what the forums members used before ordering...

What do you use?
And on what metals?
Thanks ..

I had the shells already so figured I would try them first..

if those were the 1 inch ceramic stars HF had ,then yes...thou they do seem a bit large for use in the 5 lb drum ..
those HF resin green piramids looked like their better media for small stuff ..

Thinking that the stars would break down after a while into smaller odd shapes but are not for small items ..

I have the same unit and use a mixture of walnut and ceramic to clean my parts. I get mixed results with it. Nuts and bolts clean up ok but if I had to do it over again - I would have saved my money on the tumbler and spent it on chemical agents for rust and such.
