A nice lady who contacted me has a pair of these Bultaco's that were the pride of her husband. The reason she even pinged me was because she knew I had an interest in the two wheel beasts. She also didn't know at my age it was mostly street motorbikes but anyway I'm passing this along to all of you just in case some one on the Forum may have an interest.
Her husband has passed away and she would like to get rid of the two bikes. Both are Cenmotos ? or Pursangs ?

1974: Works Shock, no leaking from oil leaking nor from pressure blow-by from the engine'
Forks may be leaking a wee bit and fender looks Non-OEM
1969; Is perfect Betor shock, no leaks, perfect paint, new chain. Complete restoration done by a pro.

I went over both motorbikes they are nice and best of all the woman has all the paperwork that her anal husband was keeping on what he had done and spent on the pair.

Anyone interested or know someone that may be interested hit me back and I'll put together pictures and talk about a price for one or the both.

Cemoto is the company, Pursang is the model, they are full on go fast MX bikes, likely with a close ration gearbox.
Cool! Not many people have the balls to ride them any more.

What's the displacement? Yellow # plate is likely 360cc Green # Plate likely 250cc

The motorbikes are located in Northern California and seem to both be 250 cc's, I'll find out for sure and get back to you. Sure are nice considering the age and that they were ridden not just museum pieces.

I did check with the nice lady who has them and I was correct they're both 250 cc's.

Nice bikes, you should make them look totally mint and sell them for about 4000 great big american $ each.

I've done Barstow to Vegas in years gone by. Road Racing is now my interest. These motorbikes belong to a nice lady who is a friend of a friend. I just said that I'd put out the word that they are up for sale. Some dealer in Napa, Ca offered her $4000 for the two. Not a right price when the '69 is in as new condition.

Yep, when she ask me what I thought they were worth I looked at some hammer prices over the last few years. Now I have no idea in this time and place but over the last few auctions motorbike about the same as the 1969 have gone for as much as 9 K so 4 K for the pair....not so much.

The way I look at it; an old MX bike no matter how nice it is can't be worth more then a new one that is technologically far more advanced, unless you are just buying the old one for the art of it and Bultaco is not an extremely rare art piece motorcycle. Bultaco's were cheap bikes in the day, all of them had an original list price well under 2 grand. On the other hand a small group of people still like to race them so I can see somebody forking out almost the same money as a new bike to do that. I don't see anybody buying 50 year old motorcycles at twice the price of a new motorcycle so they can go out and race it. imho 4 grand is a heck of a good price for the seller and it's the price of newer bikes that sets the standard.

Of course a dealer will offer less than market value, they won't pay anywhere near what auction prices are. Did they see the bikes themselves or was their offer based on a phone call from someone they don't know offering up bikes they'd have to drive 100 miles to pick up and then find out if they ran?

Selling to a dealer will probably bring the least amount of money but may be the fastest/easiest sale
Selling to the general public might bring the most money, but may take a year to find the right guy.
If you want auction prices, sell it through an auction house at no reserve. You found the "as much as" price, what was the "as low as" price? Who knows which way the one you're trying to sell will fall on that day.

My theoretical prices were based on a very nice complete bike,
not the rode it around the farm and parked it in the barn type bike

Pretty much what I told her. My wife and I went up and looked them over. I think she just wants them and the memories gone but the son wants her to get top price. I on the other hand wish someone besides me was involved as I have Road Race bikes to prepare and don't really know squat about these things.

As my wife said to me "this is another fine mess you've got yourself into" so I'll do what I can to help and hope someone with love in their heart and money in their pocket comes along.

Good Pictures of the bikes would be a good start, if the owners can't bring themselves to do at least that, then they can forget about ever seeing top market dollar. Then suddenly an offer of half market value is not unreasonable. You would be doing them a huge service just to document them.

Wife took some pic's just need to get them out there. She's been swamped with work as the work from home is just not as efficient as life in times pasted. I will get them out there ASAP'

There must be a top notch Bultaco restorer in California, maybe several. They may be able to give/get the best price with the least hassle to the seller. You have what looks like good records and well kept bikes. They' have time and facilities to sort and spit shine, if worth it, and Bultaco buyers.

From what I've been told the 1969 has been restored by a top drawer restorer here in N Calif. He may have retired now but I was told that the bikes were done at a vintage motorbike shop in either Napa or Sonoma. I don't know much about these machines so I can't address if it is concourse level (here I mean where the factory did something like sticker badly that was carried thru to the restoration) I only know that at least the '69 is a pretty motorbike. Frankly the paint looked better than I remember new Tacos looking in my youth.

That's kind of the look of the one I saw. That is except that it had been sitting in garage since the owner died and it's not staged like this one with the polished tires and the ground being wet down.
LOL All I really remember is doing a desert event and the guy I was with had to lay his Bultaco on it's side and kick it that way to get it to start. It was faster the snot but what a pain.

Oh ya man, you have to stage her and wet her down all nice! if you don't have a mountain background a hot Bultaco chick will do.


If my money was worth 35% more then yours right now, I would want to buy one.
