I finally got the engine out today, I had everything else off, just no off time from work till today. I'm just waiting for my new head to come in. Heres some pictures:

Now since I have the bike apart I was thinking of painting it. I was planning on paint the engine black in F-style and repaint the frame while I'm at it. I was thinking semigloss the frame and engine and either leaving the rest of the bike flat black or painting in gloss black. Heres a picture of my bike all together to give you a idea what it looks like.

I would really like some input on this. Also how to I clean up the cases, I don't want them shiny but just new looking to go with the black engine

yea spray bomb and wet sanding is the name of the game on this one, cause of one major reason, I'm spending all my damn money just to get it running and I have to be cheap on the paint. I don't want to be all black, I was considering doing white scallops on the tank or something.

I'll come lay some lines on it if you want (old school style pinstriping). Jersey is not that far.
Well when I head up to NJ next I'm getting my friend to pin stripe it and do my new tattoo. What part of NJ are you from, I was live in south nj my whole life till last year when I moved down here to NC

Well hit the frame with simple green and its amazing how rusty the frame is. Lots of specks of surface rust, no big patches, just alot of spots and scratchs of rust. Its amazing how dirty the frame was, I love simple green, it is the best cleaner ever. I'll wire brush the frame tomorrow and paint the frame. BTW this is the first time I've washed my bike in the 2 years I've owned it lol

Heres some more progress. The frame is painted. The head is suppose to be in tomorrow, I'm just waiting for my gasket kit to come in. Hopefully I have can have the engine together and painted by next weekend and MAYBE even back into the bike. After that I need new tires and paint the tank, cowl, and side panels

Well my exhuast came in today and I did some more painting. Just some wet sanding needed now and then to come up with something more interesting than black. I was thinking white scallops. Anybody have any suggestions? Anybody know what exhaust I got?
