so i have a chance to get my hands on a 1989 Honda GB500

its got bad forks apparently like the dude ran into the curb or something but i think they look pretty cool stock.. but i dont know anything about them besides they were made for 2 years and was honda's too early attempt at retro styling.

looking for stuff like "hows the motor"... sus design? etc

if he is asking something you can afford - buy it. The motor is awsome, a 500 single with split exhaust, how could you go wrong?

My brother had one. Need to keep it above 4500rpm. Wicked fun bike. And everyone who's owned one has become an absulote fanatic.

so allegedly the crash was a little worse than originally expected .. the forks look like pretzels and the frame has a few tears in it... not worth my efforts... another guy bought it i think.. good luck bro

Sounds like you're going to pass on this one but if you need it I have a gb500 front end that we need to sell. Has both front and rear wheels and the front brake set-up. My wife was going to use it on a cb500 project that never happened. Let me know if interested.
