Thx fer the warm reception! I'm glad you liked me bike. And hey Geeto, remember to take ur pills, aarrrrrgghh. So I've had it about 3 months now and I'm pissed off to say she's stopped running right. A couple of weeks ago she started backfiring and was having trouble keeping her at idle. I pulled out the spark plugs and they were all blackened. Got some new plugs (NGK D8ES) and they fouled up almost immedietly. <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle> I went to go start her up today, she started went up to about 2000rpm and then just died out. This kept happened over and over! Plugs fouled again. I then looked inside the gas tank and there was black flaky deposits on the middle hump. There was the same deposits floating around in the amount of gas left. Coulld it be a clogged fuel line? Any ideas and solutions? F**ck I think I might have to clean out the gas tank and then clean out the fuel system?

you are going to need to clean out the gas tank and then the carbs for sure. Then just to be safe install an inline fuel filter. I would post more but I am sure some of the other guys will probably get into specifics, It is 10pm on a Saturday night and I have a lot of drinking to do

Hey someone pas me the wrench........ Ahh screw it where is the torch

It sounds like your floats and/or needle valves may be sticking. As previously suggested, plan on pulling and cleaning the carbs and tank. Also, since it sounds like you've got quite a bit of rust in the tank, it should probably be sealed as well. There is the old stand-by "Kreem", as well as a number of similar products. If I were going to do one now, I'd try the POR 15 kit. I haven't tried their tank sealer, but I've used other of their products and always found them first rate and very tough.

POR-15 is the best i think and not only do they have the best tank sealer they have a remover for when it is time to reseal the tank....Kreem is ok but that is just that it's ok...yamaha putts out a simular product that is better then Kreem but i don't know if they are as good as POR-15....
