White Trash Fabrication's Post Apocalypic 250 Ninja Street Fighter $3000 Budget Build

Hi I'm Julian from White Trash Fabrication (WTF for short) and this a is 250 Ninja I'm building into a custom Mad Max Street fighter. This is what I started with. I had to cut most of the back of the bike off. Also this build has a budget of $3000. My shop builds budget bikes. We specialize in choppers, Bobbers, Café racers/Street Fighters all built with that old school vibe, with a little bit of Mad Max, Rockabilly Rat Bike and a touch of Steampunk for good measure. So hope this build shows you that you don't need a lot of money to build something trick.

I then welded in a piece of heavy gauge pipe to build the new rear section of the bike and also well be used as the seat mount. I found this cool fender blank and proceeded to cut it up into strips so I could overlap them and make a scale look to the fender. This was as fun as it sounds lol. I extended the swingarm 5" by welding two swingarms together with sleeves inserts and then I boxed it. Then mounted the fender right to the swingarm to get the tire hugger look.

Here are some mock up pictures of what I was thinking of doing. I was playing around with stretching the red tank. Then I got a killer deal on the tank in the bottom pictures. I still had to modify it to make it work.

Welcome to Caferacer.net. You have pretty nice bike to start from, in fact, I believe it could be the next CB350 as far as making modifications and performance improvements. My only question is in what way have you done anything which has improved the performance or function of the Ninja 250?

Assuming the "this is what I started with" photo is actually all you started with (ie: no bodywork / seat) then you wouldn't even consider trying to bring that back to life as a stock bike. And they weren't that great a bike when new anyway - fairly low spec / budget commuter bike.Interesting things you are doing. Carry on and have fun.

holy shit dude you gotta stop. your welds are trash on the swingarm, there's no sleeve or plug welds or gusset plates plus you grinded the welds flat, it's gonna snap like a dry twig. i don't see a jig anywhere, judging by your welds and your thought process I'm banking its as straight as can be

sorry but sometimes you gotta let people know what they are doing wrong especially when it comes to bikes because all these hacks making unsafe rides will end up reflecting on the entire industry

No I have done any performance upgrades. It is a strictly a cosmetic build, but I'll have to do some suspension adjustments because of extending the swingarm.

I think a madmax bike with a little rockabilly sounds fun.

We can tolerate it. We've had bosozoku builds, choppers, I'm going to do a Prince replica one day........a rockabilly madmax would be a nice change of pace from the run of the mill cafe stuff.

Dohc is correct tho......a solid...welded swing arm is solid advice.
