yeah...you got me. but i think there were like 100 members when i joined up...LOL!! i figured my post count and lengthy project build somehow gave me a non newbie status...i am so wrong. actually, i spend so much time on here, and i talk to several of you guys outside of the forum, i guess it just feels like i have been here longer. but still, we have had a major influx the last two weeks..am i wrong about that too?

Behold my 100+ postings! i have truly done the tonne! (note olde english spelling of "ton") I now reserve the right to dispense smart ass comments and refer to others as "fucktards" at the drop of a hat. Destroy all newbies!!!
Just playing around but they gotta come from somewhere. Thinking back when i first signed up, I had the audacity to ask the cb 350 fork swap question. regardless, someone was kind enough to help. i have since performed many searches and felt embarrased for myself when i saw the issue adressed like a billion times.

oh no, don't get me wrong, i wasn't newbie bashing!! i was just wondering if we were advertised somewhere or some magazine gave us a shout out...because things got busy quickly! maybe it is the economy and people are dragging out their old bikes and they found this place like i did (using google).

Well, jro555 and Hammer must have heard about the site at the July 4th races in NH---maybe they saw my t-shirt, but I doubt that....

Must be the caferacer.net sticker on the back of my CB350 that the fast guys see when they lap me.

I've noticed the other motorcycle board I visit has had a huge influx of new guys too.

I think alot of guys are finding it easier to talk the wife into a bike with the cost of gas.

Most of the new newbies won't post much either, then they'll disappear forever.

Yup, that happens. Some hobbies just don't stick and some boards don't have good chemistry.

I'm a regular on another motorcycle site and I'm comfortable with the people there, how the forum software works, knowing what level of smartassism is okay without being trollish(different sites have different thresholds and I've seen moderators ban people for stuff I didn't think was anything, but maybe they were repeat offenders or registered under a different name -I don't know).

I just want to see what kind of projects people here have going, open my mind to other brands -I'm a Honda nut and I have a hard time believing there is another brand. :D

I read a lot. I try not to post if I don't have anything really worthwhile to say, hence, my low post count.

Things always get slow for the regulars this time of year. Racing, riding etc. You'll see the posts start to goup a bit as the mid-summer vintage racing lull goes into effect. Posts always get slow when we are racing each other, a few weeks go by without a raceand we'll all be antsy to get back out there. The NOOBS are getting an easy ride right now with Geeto and Branson busy elsewhere. They'll be back. Until then Joe will have to bust balls.

I am not going to lie to you gentlemen, I am a newbie for sure, you can thank our government and dependancy on foreign oil for introducing me to a motorcycle, when I was googling restoration ideas I came across you guys and fell in love with your bikes. Cheers.

Uh Doi, fellas, everybody and their brother is digging that beat-up old diamond in the rough from their cool, but now dead, uncle's backyard. Gas prices are retarded to start and everything else is becoming increasingly unobtainable. There is nothing like saving money on fuel, fixing old bikes, riding them, and being thoroughly distracted from the calamity that is life in the good ol' U S of A...

I heard about caferacer.net from midge, at the July 4-5 USCRA races, when he was talking about where some of his FCB parts had come from. I'll probably post for a bit, lurk for a while, post for a while. . .but this ain't no hobby, boys. This is life. Been obsessed with motorcycles as long as I can remember, and since I was already a teenager when BSA introduced the 441 Victor, that was some time ago. We don't count the bikes in the barn any more. We just started racing this season, figured we'd better do it before we got too old.

This is the '99 Ducati SS750ie I salvaged a while back. . .it had been stolen, abused, crashed on both sides, spent a couple of years in an outdoor salvage yard with no gas cap, and then some doof hooked it up to a battery and pumped rusty water through the injector rack and into the cylinders. Lots of eBay parts, lots of help from friends, but I built that motor and the rest, had to save the bike from Mr. "I was gonna make a bobber out of it."

Gail, Who is "we". Do you have a split personality?

This site has become too family friendly with the absence of a few key members.

You can buy alot of gas with the price of a new bike and gear so I never bought into that arguement that it will save money in gas, unless the daily commuter gets 10 mpg.
