Who owns the Black '69 Benelli 650 cafe racer pictured on one of these sites? It's the only one I've seen on the net, if anyone else has seen it they would know what I'm talking about, it's all black and chrome with clip ons and a small single seat. In the pic I have, It's sitting on a round, brick paver driveway. I can't find the site I got the picture from! AAARGH! I'd attach the pic I have of it if I could figure out how? If anyone has any ideas or comments about this bike, reply here or by e-mail @ [email protected]. I have a few questions for the owner.

For all you hardcore cafe racer heads out there, what is the general opinion regarding the Benelli marque? Worth the challenge of finding parts for or not?

Thanks All

mike o, a lister, used to own the "largest privately held collection of benelli 650 tornados in massachusetts" maybe you can get an opinion out of him! actually, when i have talked to mike about them, he raves. i think some have Betor front ends. some even a have a good brake. they laso have a cool backwards operating tacho. if i remember correctly, it reads with a needle but rolls backwards. kinda cool. someone here should know alot about them though.

Excellent information guys, thanks, it's been driving me nuts. Also thanks for the referral. I really like the asthetics of this bike but need to find out more before I start dumping cashola into one.

Thanks again, Chad

It`s funny that this topic should come up, as I`m in the middle of a restoration/conversion of a `73 Tornado into a cafe racer. I just need to make the thing a bit more oil tight and a bit more hp wouldn`t hurt, either.

I`d give my right arm for that seat in the Benelli photo! Finding a suitable seat has been a pain in the butt (no pun intended). The one in the pic is very, very nice! Anyone know where to get one like it?

I`m still trying to find some suitable cans. I was thinking of trying out a pair of the peashooter cans you see on the Triumphs. Any sugestions? Comments? Wanna race?

drop bret an email, or go check out his site. his url is posted on the boards somewhere and or maybe on his profile. or search "glass from the past". that seats pretty small, you can give layin up the glass yourself. once you get into it, its kinda fun. swing by nhis/louden to se some really great vintage motorcycle racing on monday. you'll find alot of people to race there.
