the tank on my 72 honda cb 500 is rusty inside, and rather than clean it out i'd like to get another tank for it that's in good shape if i can find one. are these tanks specific to this bike, or would one from a different year/model be the same? ideally the paint would be the same but i can always repaint it if need be. here's a pic of mine:

550 tanks are the same through 76. but only the k models, f (ss) models use a different tank as do the 77 and later k models. the later tank will fit but is a bit longer and won't work with your seat. the paint scheme is also different after 74. unfortunately I don't have an extra one.
