.. is this thing?

Was having issues with the kick starter on the CB450 project, pulled the sidecover. Found it in the bottom of the engine. No idea what its from. Looks like it was the head of something and broke off.

I'm almost finished with the wiring. I installed a new switch so I could use the 1/4 turn throttle...

Its getting close to done...

Since I had the camera out... this is why I only did the endurance race this weekend...

Problems with the wiring: after I got all the lights working through the switch, I dragged the bike outside to try kicking it over. No go. Found there was no voltage at the coils. So I forgot to hook something up to get power to the coils. More time with voltmeter and indecipherable 1970's wiring diagrams. Yeah!

I've taken a whole CB450 engine compeletely apart before, and don't recall anything that had a head on it like that. I'm pretty sure its not from the top end. Anyways... we'll find out when I get the wiring finished and the bike running.

I heard that years ago the assemblers in Japan used to put stuff in there just to F**K guys up when they tore their engines down. Had something to do with the way WWII turned out.

If tomorrow really is the first day of the rest of my life....does that mean all the shit I do today can't be held against me?

Spent 20 min looking at the wiring and a wiring diagram while watching Buffalo lose. In a moment of clarity, soldered up a connector wire, connected it, stuck the ass end of the bike out the basement door...

fired up on the second kick. Cool. One project down. Three to go.
Until this one blows up.
