what pisses me off is ill get pulled over for having a loud pipe. or no helmet, should i ever dare. and these kids get a free pass just cuz they'll run? who decided that because someone doesnt stop for a flashing light they should just get away? where is the fairness in that? where is the respect? not just for the cops but for people who decide to wear a helmet and have plates? so if i dont feel like stopping, i should just wind it on, and figure they arent going to chase me? so whats to prevent me from riding my racebike or xr100 on the street everyday? no plates? no lights? they are going about this completey the wrong way. they need to have motorcycle cops who can actually ride. the bpd has drz-s'. im guessing those guys cant ride to save their lives. they need more better motorcycle cops, on cheap dual sports, not 600lb harleys, and they need to increase the penalty exponentially.
on the black comment, i have to tell you. 99.9% of the kids i see doing this are black. let me tell you this story. back in december when we were getting our bikes together for short track racing, i had just mounted up my new tires. i took them across the street into the empty office building parking lot to scuff the tires. it is completey walled and no one can see from any of the surrounding streets. im just riding in circles in 1st gear. i pull into the lot and theres a cruiser parked in there with 2 of baltimores finest jamming subs in their holes in the crusier. 2 cops i know from the bike shop. so i think nothing of it and just continue to ride in circles. well, the cop comes racing over and they both jump out and go for me and the bike. i recognize both of them as they are the usual guys who have that beat on friday nights. (they stop in the bike shop and chat our ears off for hours while writing parking tickets out front) they are always cool with us and ask if were parked there etc...anyway, fucking 4' rambo jumps out and is yelling at me to get off the bike. so i do, and he says step away from it, at which point i tell him it has no kickstand and im not going to drop it on the ground. so he grabs the bike and is grilling me about what im doing etc. so i take my hat off and just say to him "dude, i work in the bike shop across the alley, you come in there every weekend, you know all of us" so he looks at me and goes, "oh, yeah, ok, i didnt recognize you with the hat on. you dont really fit the profile anyway" wtf is that supposed to mean? i mean...cuz im riding an xr 100 around a parking lot, but im white, there should be some other way to handle it? what if i decided to take off? then what? that cop hasnt come back into the bike shop. the entire thing just pisses me off.
someone has to do something about it.
