I'm just peachy.
op is still just the same type of bandwagon jumping fool we get here weekly.
he is late to the party. The leading fools have moved onto new dicks to rise.

Hello all new to the forum but got a project in working on... 1980 cb750c was planning on doing a full custom build with a hardtail single sided swingarm I have autocad and solidworks experience with some light bendtech but decided to much effort and time and money so with a new baby on the way and bills piling up I'm going with a cafe racer to sell.

So I picked up the bike for 600$ it ran but sounded rough got it back to my place and on the lift and started tearing it down I got the motor out and started sanding down the frame
Image

Had a little help sanding the tank down
Image

I then started to get the seat pan and rear hoop the way I wanted I cut off the stock hump in the rear along with 3" off the frame
Image
Image

Welded some flat strap to the back for the seat pan and tacked on the hoop
Image

Test fitted the seat pan and we are on our way
Image
just have to trim the seat pan in the rear and on the sides and decide if I want to keep that rear hoop or try another one

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Here's a comment for you…. if that little fellow is actually helping you sand, then put a mask on him.

Great way to welcome new comers and builders guys gotta say.... He was wearing a mask just took off for picture (wife) but if there is any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism I would appreciate it....oh I'm not a yuppie hipster just trying to flip a couple bikes to make money for my family dick heads

Don't take biting comments to heart on this forum. You would not believe the clowns that wash up here.

People are somewhat opinionated, and talk straight.

Roll with the punches jack.

Danger, is my business."

Why would you expect a warm welcome with the type of thing you are doing?
Oh, you probably didn't bother to look around here at all.

Oh I thought this was a forum where people can come and ask questions I'm newer to bike building and forums I usually try and research before I ask any questions like I said I'm not some yuppie hippster from California just trying to tap into the hipster market and make a few bucks lol

See, your assumptions failed you.
What you are, and want to do with this project is of little value here.
Clearly you just don't get it.

Play dress up with your chopper somewhere else.

Really?

I'm trying but fail to see exactly what insults you so deeply about what he's done to the bike so far.

Reminds me of way back when I was in training for the profession I'm in. Just as you are starting the procedure, your instructor is immediately on your case bitchin about the smallest things.

What is the point of anything that the OP is doing?
Seems to me he is just copping other junk, and offers zero functional improvement.
Actually the pile will work less as a motorcycle then if it was stock.

There are places that cater to this crap.
This isn't one of them.

This forum is for enthusiasts who make fundamental improvements to a bike.......to make a bike BETTER.......to race it.......not to make a parade float.

This has always been my litmus test.........would you feel safer going all out, top speed on the bike in its finished state or in its original state. There has only been a few bikes that has come across here that looked safer in its modified state rather than its original state. Most appear HORRIBLY more dangerous modified. I mean life risking. That's not fundamental improvements that's dress up pretend and that's not us.

Plus to the OP.........I have recently noticed the flooding amounts of cafe bikes for sale that are simply piles of dangerous crap that are not selling......or selling for next to nothing. Even safely done modified improved bikes are not commanding the price that reflects the time and money invested into them. I can't see the benefit of flipping a cafe bike but there might be some. I guess I would focus on sourcing cheap original bikes and flipping them. Spefic models and such. Even old Honda ATCs......depending on model can be a source of good profit.

Remember a cheap $600 pile will cost a lot in the long run. Good luck to you.

I obviously want to make the bike handle better but that's a grey area for me which is why I am posting here...I wanted a shorter front end to give a more aggressive stance the rear stock tire is 16" while the front stock is 18" I've read moving down to 16" front will not help improve handling if anything make it worse so where do I go from here? I was trying to get a cheap used newer front end that would slide right in but as I said it's a gray area for me so that's why I'm asking
