i have looked high and low, i havent been able to find rear sets for my 69 a50...even trying to just rotate the foot pegs ad readjust the linkage etc. wont work because the kick start is in the way.....does anyone out there have any ideas other than buying an expensive electric starter? thank you very much...

You wont be able to find anything that will bolt right on, but the closet thing is probably the rear sets that are sold by Clubman Racing in CT. I'm sure you get them else where, but I know he has them and he's a good guy to deal with. You can use the existing pegs but the spline thingy's that hold them in place are eventually going to go away and you'll need a wide folding kicker. If you get the rear sets from CRC, it has a folding peg on the right and then you just lift it up when kicking it over. This is the option I used on mine. The bottom loop that holds the exhaust and the passenger pegs is a good spot for welding in a plate to mount your pegs.
Oh yeah.. when you mount your pegs, if you don't use linkage and just turn the shifter around, it will hit the kicker. You will need "S" shape the shifter as well.
I'm trying to do this from memory cause I did it about 7 years ago. If you can't get anywhere with this, I can make you a set.
