Way pricey - but their website is kickass! Love the circuitry and the crank/piston for the loading....sweet.

Go here, be happy: http://www.tr1.de/pages/gallery_sepp.php

That first bike looks pretty good, I dunno what you nancies are mincing on about? What's 'fugly' about it?
Yuca and gs1327: What's the rub? Looking at the pic posted, it's a well executed conversion, pays homage to the original, integrates nicely etc. So what's the issue? I'd proudly ride this and give you the finger passing by, but I'd still turn around and help you fix whatever POS YOU happened to be stuck with.

I've toyed with the idea of a cafe Savage before... only problem is that lump of a motor, you can't get anything out of it without destroying reliability, and any hopes of being financially solvent through retirement. It also went into production one year after the 1985 cut off for Formula 2, d-oh! Too bad 'cause they're cheap and plentiful.

So, I just poked at servicehonda.com's parts fiches... that rear hub setup looks like it'd be fairly simple for a machinist to adapt other wheels to. Yamaha even sells the spline bit for the wheel as a separate part, you just have to adapt your wheel to take it? Modified sprocket carrier? The downside is no gearing adjustment options. Starting with a XV500 (looks like the best base to me, motor wise, and it's a monoshock) going from the 130/90R16 to a 160/55R17 takes you from 25.21in diameter to 24.56in diameter in back, lowering the gearing a touch. Could be a runner... 50hp stock, plenty of room to go big within F2 rules...

the problems with the first back as i see it is the seat has issues. Alot of issues. And the subframe will break. Quickly.
