yea but these are only 30.oo and work just fine

 

i found the unis can squeeze off the carb bodies. like, they get a bit too tight, and then can pop off. so dont over tighten them. definitely no oil on them.

 

I've found the Uni's work real well but don't last too long before the foam breaks up.(around a year riding 40 miles a day, 5 days a week)
I've got a set of K&N filters that are over 30 yrs old still working fine.
The Chinese knock offs are crap, one size fits nothing (limited sizes of filter bodies and just change mounting rubber)
Just for SAG, I bought a set of 4 from SFL which fit carbs but have a smaller inlet than the carb bore.
I'm cutting them up to fit something else.

 

Will the bike run the same or will the carbs need adjusted when coming from the stock air boxes?

I got some stainless steel t-bolt band clamps to fix that problem. Why do you recommend no oil? I've never heard of that but my background is all off-road where foam air filters get cleaned and lubed regularly.

The oil restricts airflow a bit. On a road race bike you really dont need much filtering so i imagine thats why they dont oil the filters. Offroad is a completely different monster. Dont oil in that situation and you can kill the engine with all the particulates passing.
