Hello everyone !!!! Well i'm here to pick everyone brain 'cause ya'll have been there and done that and I have not....LOL
I'm 57 yrs old and embarking on my first bike build and figured a Café Racer was the way to go. What I have is a 1971 Honda CB175 pretty good condition but not running, so to me it's a blank slate. I'm hoping to meet some folks here that can answer the questions i'm going to have and who knows maybe make some friends. Thanks ya'll

A cool little bike the CB175 especially with the red/chrome tank. Yes if its in good order generally I'd get it running and mechanically sound first.

I'm currently restoring a CB500 as a barn find, its in good condition but just spent 3 months sorting, cleaning, replacing rusty parts and finally had the engine running.. this weekend after 20 years. Next job is exactly as BigAl suggests I need to get it riding, stopping and reliable, then I have a bike with a strong platform to move forward. Good luck

he's going to hear that a lot about the 175....if he can't take it from us, how is he going to deal with it in real life?

To be fair this forum used to have a lot of 175 racers on it (rosko, branson, tanner) and only tanner is left.

Electrics are the 1st order of business, Accel , Rick's, Pamco or Cycle Tech haven't decided yet , Motogadgets , and a total rewire.
Will post some pics tomorrow.... color is blue and white...... been working some weird hours this week.
